He was born on Dec. 19, 1931 in Elkader, IA the son of James and Kathryn (Gallagher) Adams. He married Betty Kneisel on Jan. 30, 1954 in Powhattan, KS. Thelma was born on Sept. 5, 1919 in Shullsburg, WI the daughter of Chester and Elizabeth (Laird) Trebilcock. She married Harold Lamont Cook on Sept. 7, 1939 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Thelma loved life on the farm. She and Lamont farmed in rural Shullsburg until moving to Fennimore in 1953. They continued farming in Wingville Township Grant Co. until 1978.
