William (Bill) Thomas Argall, 42, passed away peacefully on December 18, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City after a short illness. He was born July 5, 1971, in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Thomas and Diana (Benson) Argall. He graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1989 and later from UW-Platteville with a degree in Ag Business.
Bill worked in sales for several chemical/fertilizer companies, most recently as Location Manager/Sales Agronomist for Landmark Services Co-op in Warren, IL. He loved selling and swapping sales stories with his father, who he thought was the best salesman in the world and who taught him the “thrill of the chase” to sell the next customer. Bill liked to tell his dad he was the “new and improved” version of a salesman. He was enjoying a new lease on life after receiving a kidney from his sister, Angela, in late June 2013. Bill was tremendously proud of his daughter, Alexis, a senior at Stoughton High School. He loved motorcycling and 4-wheeling this fall with friend Gina and anticipated winter snowmobiling fun and future travels with her.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Alexis, and her mother, Lisa Olson, of Stoughton; his father, Thomas (Lois) Argall of Muscoda; his mother, Diana Argall of Madison; his brother, Steven (Jo Dee Johnson) Argall of rural Lancaster and his sons, Colton and Tristan; his sister, Angela (Phil Schneider) Argall of Madison; his step-sisters Martina Steger of Mineral Point, and Nadia Steger of Las Vegas, NV; and special friend, Gina Udelhofen of Platteville; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; uncles, Thomas O’Flahrity and Fritz Argall; and cousins, Michael and Thomas O’Flahrity and Richard M. Argall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 23, at Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Mineral Point. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, at the funeral home and also after 9 a.m. on Monday until the time of service.
