Livingston, WI-Russel M. Nelson, age 79 died on Tuesday evening Dec. 13, 2016 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore. Russel was born on Nov. 25, 1937 in Homer Township Grant Co., WI the son of Lawrence and Leona (Stimpson) Nelson. Russel graduated from Cobb High School and then attended the U.W. Platteville. Marietta C. (Wunderlin) Tarrell, age 96, of Fennimore, died on Monday evening Dec. 5, 2016 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. Marietta was born on May 23, 1920 in Harrison Township, Grant County, WI the daughter of Frank and Maud (Horner) Wunderlin. She married Melvin C. “Pete” Tarrell on Aug. 19, 1941 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort. Marietta attended the Wunderlin rural school and graduated as salutatorian from St. Andrew High School in Tennyson. She also graduated from Platteville Normal School with a degree in rural education. David D. Galer, age 68, of Fennimore, died on Sunday morning Dec. 4, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. David was born on August 19, 1948 in Lancaster, WI the son of Leonard and Hazel (Cauffman) Galer. He married Roberta Klug on Dec. 20, 1975 in Caledonia, MN. David has lived in the same house on the Galer family farm almost his entire life. He began farming with his father shortly after high school and he and Roberta eventually purchased the farm in 1989. Shirlee J. Kramer, age 86, of Brookfield, and formerly of Livingston, died on Saturday Dec. 3, 2016 at Franciscan Woods in Brookfield, WI. Shirlee was born on Oct. 21, 1930 in Richland Center, WI the daughter of Arnold and Delina (Beaudry) Ellingson. She married Byron Kramer on March 7, 1945 in Dubuque, IA. Shirlee was raised in the Milwaukee area until moving to Fennimore in the late 1940’s. Fennimore, WI-Charles “Chuck” W. Strack, age 75 died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning Nov. 30, 2016 at his residence in Fennimore. Chuck was born on July 21, 1941 in Boscobel the son of Chalmer & Leona (Peck) Strack. He was married to Barbara Arms and with this union two children, Crystal and Jean were born. Chuck was then married to Marcia Tarbox and with this union, Roger and Lisa were born. Chuck worked at Rayovac for over 30 years until he retired.
