Fennimore, WI-Ruth Ann Staskal, age 90, of Fennimore died on Monday morning Dec. 24, 2012 at the Lancaster Care Center in Lancaster. Ruth Ann was born on Sept. 20, 1922 in Fennimore the daughter of Roy & Ida (Colby) Loney. She was united in marriage to Jefferson Staskal on Sept. 5, 1939 in Fennimore. In the 1950’s Ruth Ann worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, IA until she and Jefferson purchased their farm in Ellenboro Township. Fennimore, WI – Delos W. Smith, age 90, of Fennimore passed away on Sunday morning Dec. 23, 2012 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster.  Delos was born on March 24, 1922 in Millville, WI the son of William and Mabel (Culver) Smith.  He married Elmyra Wayne on Feb. 20, 1946 in Fennimore. Delos attended Millville School until having to stay home to care and provide for his family due to the unexpected death of his father. Mark M. Freymiller, age 84 of Fennimore, passed away peacefully on Saturday Dec. 15, 2012 at Manor Care in Platteville with his loving wife Evelyn and daughter Patrice at his side.  Mark was born March 7, 1928 in Marion Township, Grant Co., WI the son of Lou and Elizabeth (Bender) Freymiller. He married Evelyn Kay Haskins on Nov. 15, 1955. Mark was confirmed at the Marion Church in Woodman and graduated from 8th grade at the Werley School.  He worked on the family farm and played minor league baseball in Florida before serving his country from 1951-1953 during the Korean

Fennimore, WI – Laurence E. Hoffman, age 89, of Fennimore passed away on Thursday December 13, 2012 at the Larson House in Columbus.   Laurence was born on Sept. 27, 1923 in Fennimore, WI the son of Aloysius and Mary (Johnson) Hoffman. He married Jeanne Cunningham-Napp on Oct. 27, 1956. Following graduation from Fennimore High School, Larry worked on the family farm until purchasing it from his parents.  In 1968, Larry sold the farm and went to work for Chrysler Corporation in Belvedere, IL until his retirement in 1988.  Larry returned to Fennimore where he was the caretaker of Prairie Cemetery

Fennimore, WI-Marcella Geraldine Johnston, age 90, of Fennimore passed away on Tuesday morning Dec. 11, 2012 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. Marcella was born on May 2, 1922 in Castle Rock Township, Grant Co., WI the daughter of Martin & Stella (Broaden) Larson. She was united in marriage to R. Paul Johnston on Nov. 1, 1941 in Dubuque, IA. Marcella and Paul were engaged in farming and Marcella also worked at the Montfort Meat Packing Plant and the Cobb Canning Factory until moving to Fennimore in 1967. She then worked for the Fennimore School District as a cook
