Sherry Sue Phillips

SHERWOOD, WI - Sherry Sue Phillips, age 78, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, September 22, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.

Sherry was born in Boscobel, to John and Helen (Slade) Wubbenhorst. She spent her early years growing up on a small farm outside of town and enjoyed sharing many stories from these years with her children and grandchildren. She graduated from Boscobel High School, and briefly lived in Madison, WI while working for the State of Wisconsin.  On August 4, 1967, she married Marlin Phillips from Fennimore, and the two were blessed with 57 years of marriage. Throughout their life together the couple raised three children while making three career related moves living in Boscobel, Durand, Lancaster, and Sparta, Wisconsin. The couple have spent their retirement enjoying their four grandchildren, while settling in Sherwood.

Sherry is survived by her husband Marlin Phillips; her daughters Suzette (James) Preston of Appleton and Pamela Buttles of Wrightstown; her son Matt (Ruth) Phillips of Stoughton; her grandchildren: Jack Phillips, Clara Phillips, Nathan and Sam Preston; her sister Sandy (Wubbenhorst) Monson of Rockford, IL; her cousin Cathy Pickett of Rochester, MN; and many nephews and nieces and other cousins that held a special place in her heart.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father John Wubbenhorst and mother Helen (Slade) Wubbenhorst; and her siblings: Bob Wubbenhorst, Jack Wubbenhorst, Jim Wubbenhorst, and Joyce (Wubbenhorst) Logan.
