Terry Lee, age 59, of Fennimore died unexpectedly on Sun. Jan. 7, 2018 at Gundersen-Boscobel Area Hospital. Terry was born on March 15, 1958 in Viroqua, WI the son of Theron and Alfreda (Aspenson) Lee. He married Karen Walstead on May 21, 1983 and together they had three sons, Devan, Hayden and Gunner. Terry graduated from Fennimore High School in 1976. He then worked at Advance Transformer in Boscobel, Sub-Zero in Fitchburg and Cummings in Mineral Point before retiring due to his health. Clarence W. Straka, age 88, of Fennimore, died on Saturday morning, Jan. 6, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Clarence was born on Nov. 10, 1929 in Eden Township, Iowa County, WI the second son of Wencel and Margaret (Winters) Straka. Clarence lost his mother when he was seven years old, went to live with his aunt and uncle for two years before his father was able to get the family back home together. Mercedes Mumm, age 90, of Dodgeville, formerly of Montfort, passed away peacefully at Upland Hills Nursing Center on Sunday, December 31, 2017. She was born Lela Mercedes Edge on May 26, 1927, in Lancaster, WI, the daughter of Francis and Lela (Bennett) Edge. Mercedes graduated from Lancaster High School and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Teachers College.  She taught grades 1 through 8 at Little Grant School.  She married William Mumm on August 18, 1953, and had 10 children. Keith A. Kreul, age 89, of Fennimore, died on Thursday Dec. 28, 2017 at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on April 21, 1928 in Mt. Ida Township, Grant Co., WI, the son of Harry and Elsie (Wehrle) Kreul. He was united in marriage to Dolores Morfey on Feb. 14, 1953. Elizabeth B. Hoffman (Riemenapp), age 87, of Fennimore, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Ingleside Manor nursing home in Mt. Horeb surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth, affectionately called Betty by family and friends, was born on April 23, 1930 in Dickeyville, WI, the daughter of Clement and Elizabeth (Pickel) Riemenapp. Betty married Robert F. Hoffman at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore on June 1, 1949. They farmed for several years before Robert became a rural letter carrier in Mt. Hope in 1961, retiring in 1991. Lila was born on Dec. 31, 1934 in Liberty Township, Grant County, WI the daughter of William and Edna (Gratz) Budack. She was united in marriage to Paul Biddick on July 24, 1953. Norma was born on Oct. 19, 1919, at home in North Lancaster Township, Grant County, WI, the daughter of Oliver and Ruth (Wagner) Alexander. She was united in marriage to Charles Neuroth on Feb. 16, 1944 in rural Fennimore. Norma lived all but the last nine years of her life within the same one mile stretch of Mt. Ridge Road.
