She was born at home on June 27, 1936 in Cassville the daughter of George and Mabel (Hoffman) Kafar. Beverly was united in marriage to Foster Smith in 1952. Together they had nine children. Later she was united to Donald Turben in 1973. Beverly grew up in Cassville and after her marriage to Foster; they worked together commercial fishing the Mississippi River for several years. She was born on May 14, 1957 in Park Falls the daughter of Donald M. and Lucille R. (Laberge) Dailey. Kathy graduated from Superior Senior High in the class of 1975.
