She was born at home on June 27, 1936 in Cassville the daughter of George and Mabel (Hoffman) Kafar. Beverly was united in marriage to Foster Smith in 1952. Together they had nine children. She was born on May 14, 1957 in Park Falls the daughter of Donald M. and Lucille R. (Laberge) Dailey. Kathy graduated from Superior Senior High in the class of 1975.
