Jack J. Skaife, age 86, of Madison, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday September 20, 2020 at the Oak Park Nursing Home in Madison. He was born on December 10, 1933 in Mount Hope, Wisconsin the son of John Manley and Mildred Anna (Turner) Skaife. He was united in marriage to Marlene Fry on May 8, 1956 in Dubuque, Iowa.
Jack was a truck driver, at different times driving a dump truck, a fuel oil truck and Redi Mix truck. He enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, bowling, and playing cards, especially with his nieces Christy and Kathy; even if Kathy won, he was looking forward to getting his money back.
Jack is survived by his son Jeff, two grandsons; Collin and Ryan Leavitt, sister Lenore Heilmann,
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, of 61 years, Marlene Skaife on January 22, 2017, daughter Cindy Leavitt on October 28, 2006, five brothers; Lawrence, Robert, Laverne, Raymond, and Richard Skaife, and his sister Helen Pace.
A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday September 26, 2020 at the Stitzer Lutheran Cemetery in Stitzer, WI. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the cemetery on Saturday morning. A luncheon will follow at the Hilltop Tavern in Fennimore. If you are planning on attending the service, please bring a lawn chair. The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore is assisting the family.
