MOUNT HOREB, FORMERLY LANCASTER - Lucille “Lucy” Ramshaw, age 90, passed away on Wednesday September 10, 2025, at Heritage Assisted Living in Middleton. She was born on March 14, 1935, in River Falls, the daughter of Seymour and Agnes (Wasson) Dahm. Lucy lived and grew up in Roberts, WI until the age of 15. Her family moved to River Falls, WI in 1950. She graduated from River Falls High School in 1953 and then attended University of Wisconsin River Falls and graduated in 1957 with a bachelor’s degree in music education. Lucy’s first teaching job was in Lancaster, WI. She taught elementary vocal music and high school choral. She directed many church choirs during her lifetime. Those being: Jr. Choir at UCC in River Falls while attending college, the UMC Senior choir in Lancaster and the Perry Lutheran Choir in Daleyville. She entertained many people with her piano playing.
Lucy was united in marriage to Charles T. Ramshaw on August 20, 1961. She finished her teaching career in 1965 and went into the Ramshaw family business of retail floral shop and greenhouses. She spent 30 years in the floral business with her husband. They sold the business in 1995 and retired. While residing in Lancaster, Lucy was past President of the Lancaster Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In 1997, they moved into their newly constructed home in Mount Horeb, WI. Lucy enjoyed being a volunteer at the Mount Horeb Welcome Center and the Mount Horeb area historical museum and a volunteer driver for the RSVP of Dane County. She also participated in the “Fit for Life” exercise classes at the Senior Center for 17 years. She and Charles were member of the United Methodist Church in Lancaster for over 50 years.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 64 years Charles of Middleton, brother Leslie Dahm, sister-in-law Rosanne Dahm, along with nieces, nephews, many cousins and dear friends from their flower shop.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Seymour and Agnes Dahm, brother Howard and sister-in-law Patricia Dahm, and nephew Cameron Dahm.
