Glen John Welsh

Glen WelshMontfort, WI-Glen John Welsh, age 80 died on Feb. 15, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Aug. 15, 1932 in Little Grant Township Grant Co., WI the son of Ralph & Marie (Bennett) Welsh. Glen was united in marriage to his sweetheart Eileen Palan on April 18, 1953 in Highland. They were married 54 blissful years before Eileen passed away on Jan. 3, 2007 but now reunited in heaven.

In 1953, Glen began farming in Highland and then in Preston. In 1966, he purchased his farm in Mifflin Township, rural Montfort where he continued his passion for all of his years. Glen also enjoyed camping, showing his John Deere Tractor in many local parades, traveling, and always looked forward to spending his winters in Texas. Glen was very passionate about his work and his family. He greatly adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his five sons; Steve (Jodi) Welsh of Calamine, Dennis (Sue) Welsh of Montfort, Brian (Shelly) Welsh of Livingston, Phil (Janny) Welsh of Linden, Dave (Kris) Welsh of Elkhorn, 16 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren, two sisters; Kathleen Paxton of TN, Ruth (Arnie) Beckius of Highland, two brothers; Richard (Margie) Welsh of Melbourne, FL, Earl (Donna) Welsh of Dodgeville, four sister-in-laws; Marilyn Welsh, Betty Welsh, Pat Bauer, Shirley Winters, and a brother-in-law; Dick (Dorrie) Palan, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very special friend Eugenia Kramer.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, son Bruce Welsh, two grandchildren; Alex and Alexandra Welsh, and four brothers; Walter, Wilbur, Keith and Stanley Welsh.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday Feb. 19, 2013 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort with burial to follow in the St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery in Highland. Father Ken Frisch will be officiating. Friends may call from 3-7:00 P.M. on Monday Feb. 18, 2013 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort.
