Livingston, WI-Frederick A. Washburn, age 82, of Livingston died unexpectedly on Thursday Oct. 11, 2012 at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. Fred was born on Aug. 6, 1930 in Eden Township Iowa Co., WI the son of Wesley & Anna (Frolik) Washburn. He was united in marriage to Mary Jerrett on April 22, 1954 at the Fennimore United Methodist Church in Fennimore.
Fred graduated from Livingston High School in 1949 where he was a part of the boxing and basketball teams. Following graduation, Fred was engaged in farming his entire life. He loved the farming life and all the hard work that was involved. Fred enjoyed deer hunting with family and horseback riding. He was a wonderful story teller and liked sharing all of his life experiences with his family. Fred deeply loved the simple things life offered; his marriage to his beloved wife, raising and supporting his 12 children, and working hard to provide for his family on the farm. Fred will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Fred is survived by his wife; Mary of Livingston, 12 Children; Susan (Steve) Meckley of Benton, Tom Washburn of Rewey, Pat (Friend Dave Stacey) Williams of Rewey, Judy (Mark) Myers of Rewey, Sharon (Jerry) Cox of Edgerton, John (Kris) Washburn of Montfort, Jim (Nan) Washburn of Soldiers Grove, Brad Washburn of Livingston, Todd (Amber) Washburn of Livingston, Joel Washburn of Livingston, Russell Washburn of Livingston, Travis (Rhonda) Washburn of Fennimore, 33 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, two sisters; Frances Sime of Platteville, Ruth (Vilas) Noyes of Montfort, and a brother; Eugene (Marty) Washburn of Minong.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter; Stephanie Williams, brother; Carl Washburn, and a sister; Beulah Washburn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday Oct. 15, 2012 at the Montfort United Methodist Church in Montfort with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery rural Livingston. Pastor Gary Benzschawel will be officiating. Friends may call from 4-8:00 P.M. on Sunday evening Oct. 14, 2012 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort and from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the church on Monday morning.
