Eleanor McKinley

Fennimore – Eleanor E. McKinley, age 81, died on Saturday morning Nov. 30, 2013 at her residence in Fennimore.  Eleanor was born on Feb. 5, 1932 in Marion Twsp., Grant Co., WI the daughter of Adam and Lida (Miller) Schoellig.

Eleanor graduated from Boscobel High School in 1949 and soon after married her high school sweetheart Leroy McKinley on Nov. 9, 1950.  Eleanor worked as the bookkeeper at Eisele’s Supermarket and later Fennimore Foods for 29 years.  She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, working the daily crossword puzzle, and cheering on the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers.

Eleanor is survived by her husband Leroy of Fennimore, children; Lesa (Tom) Weeden of Madison, and Bruce (Kathy) McKinley of Spring Green, grandchildren; Sarah and John Weeden of Madison, step-grandson Jeff Schneider of Boscobel, sister-in-laws; Louise McKinley of Eau Claire and Irene Schoellig of Reedsburg, as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, sister Hazel (Joe) Knesting, brother Ernest Schoellig, and brother-in-law LaVern Mckinley.

As to Eleanor’s wishes, no memorial services will be held. Private burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore.
