Dorothy M. Prochaska

Dorothy ProchaskaDorothy M. Prochaska, age 81, of Fennimore, died on Monday evening April 25, 2016 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. Dorothy was born on Oct. 27, 1934 in Platteville, WI the daughter of Frank and Eveline (Golbrecht) Mohlmann. She married Melvin “Butch” Prochaska on Oct. 15, 1957 in Montfort, WI.

Following graduation from Mineral Point High School, Dorothy and Butch were married and moved to Fennimore. While Butch worked for Grant County and John Deere, Dorothy stayed at home to raise their family. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, ceramics and most recently was active in quilting. She was a very loving woman who would do anything for you. Supporting her grandchildren in all of their sporting events and activities was Dorothy’s greatest joy. Her spunky sense of humor and competitive spirit will forever be cherished.

Dorothy is survived by five children and 13 grandchildren; Jim (Darcy) Prochaska of Fennimore, with children Logan (Markie) Prochaska, Trevor Prochaska (Leeann Frey), Parker (Stephanie) Prochaska, and Breland Prochaska (Jantz Elliott), Julie (Brad) Novinski of Middleton with children Tyler (Alicia) Novinski and Garrett Novinski, Janet (Tim) Johnson of McFarland with children Seth Johnson (Emma Neild) and Claire Johnson, JoAnn Taylor of McFarland with children Sydney and Bryce Taylor, and Jolene (Bart) Nies of Platteville with children Braden, Josie, and Camryn Nies. Dorothy is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and husband Butch on July 18, 1988.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday April 30, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday evening April 29, 2016 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore where a Parish Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M.
