Charlotte J. Jinkins

Charlotte J. Jinkins, age 95, of Livingston, died on Friday morning, May 5, 2017, at Bloomfield Health and Rehabilitation in rural Dodgeville. Charlotte was born on June 21, 1921 in Clifton Township, Grant County, WI the daughter of Walter and Elsie (Allen) Brun. In the same room in which she was born, Charlotte was united in marriage to Kenneth Jinkins on Jan. 6, 1942.

Charlotte and Kenneth first farmed in the Mifflin area before moving to a farm outside of Livingston in 1955. She later purchased a farm within the city limits of Livingston where she lived until recently moving to CrestRidge Assisting Living in Dodgeville. In addition to farming, Charlotte worked as a bookkeeper for several organizations throughout the years including, Dutchman’s Inn, Clifton Township, Mifflin Cemetery Board and the Village of Livingston. She was a member of the Livingston United Methodist Church, Livingston Home-Ec Club, United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing cards, painting china, gardening, cooking Sunday dinners and collecting all things butterfly. Charlotte took great pride in the community of Livingston and supported local organizations and events.

Charlotte is survived by her four children and 11 grandchildren; Jack (Donna) Jinkins of Dodgeville with children Laurie, Chuck, Julie, Todd and Karri; Mary (Ron) Kunzelman of Colorado Springs, CO with children Tim and Susan; Tom Jinkins of Livingston with children Philip and Michelle; and Mark (Ann) Jinkins of Sturgeon Bay, WI with children David and Michael. Charlotte is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and a brother Allen (Dotty) Brun of Louisville, KY.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth on June 28, 1966, brother Gerald Brun and sister MarJean Ehlers.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Livingston United Methodist Church. Following a luncheon, burial will be held in the Mifflin Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday morning. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Charlotte J. Jinkins. The Soman-Larson Funeral Home of Montfort is assisting the family.
