Bernadine “Bea” F. Freymiller, age 96, of Fennimore passed away on Monday December 28, 2020 at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Fennimore. She was born on January 8, 1924 in Platteville the daughter of Fond and Hazel (Steinbach) Culver. Bea was united in marriage to Carl Freymiller on June 24, 1942 in Woodman Township in Grant County, Wisconsin.
Bea and Carl farmed near Woodman and later near Stitzer until retiring in November of 1975 and moving to Fennimore. Bea was a dedicated mother, first and foremost. She treasured her children and was happiest with a little one on her lap. Bea, aka “Grandma Bea” was also known as the cookie lady. She taught the art of showing love through baking. She was an avid Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cubs fan, a card shark, an animal lover and quite the yodeler, along with being an active member of the Fennimore United Methodist Church. We were so lucky to have her as our mother and grandmother. Bea touched the lives of so many. Her infectious giggle along with being able to see the goodness in people that others could not. This truly made her so special to many. We greatly appreciate the wonderful care that Bea received for the past 10 months from the staff while residing at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Bea is survived by her eight children; Karla Jones of Fennimore, Curt (Kathi) Freymiller of Fennimore, Cherrie McLimans of Bettendorf, IA, Bernita (Jim) Gilbertson of Dubuque, IA, Ginger Bishell of Fennimore, Robin (Jack) McLimans of Mt. Hope, Kimberly (Mike) Schroeder of Muscoda, and Tim Freymiller of Fennimore, 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, a brother Laudell (Joanne) Culver of Woodman, and two sisters; LaVon Strand of Woodman and Karen Culver of Elk Grove Village, IL along with several special nieces and nephews.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl on December 17, 1998, son-in-law John Bishell, a great granddaughter Lilly Bierman, brother-in-law Otis Strand, and her niece Jaye Olson.
