LANCASTER – Elaine Elizabeth Hollenberger, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born on August 31, 1947; the daughter of Paul and Carol (Cohen) Hollenberger. Elaine held various positions at LCC for 27 years before going to work at Milprint. She continued working at Milprint for 20 years. In addition to her time at LCC and Milprint, Elaine worked many years as a waitress at Stitzer Bar, Home-Again, and Cottonwood. Elaine volunteered for the Grant County Dairy Breakfast and the Grant County Fair. She enjoyed helping at various events, volunteering her time whenever it was needed. Elaine could always be found working in her yard and garden. She also liked to help her sister Irma make and decorate wedding cakes. Elaine especially enjoyed the company of her three dogs: Willie, Butch, and Cooper.
Elaine is survived by her siblings: Irma Atkinson, Al (Wendy) Hollenberger, Doug (Colleen) Hollenberger, John (Jeanette) Hollenberger, and Adeline Atkinson; and brother in-law, Harley Joe Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Willard; sisters: Pauline, Eunice, Charlotte, and Vivian; nephews, Brent Hollenberger and Daniel Atkinson; nieces, Cindy Novinski and Julie Budworth; brothers in-law: Maurice, Grant, Richard, and Leo; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.
