Douglas LaVern Jeardeau

Doug JeardeauDouglas LaVern Jeardeau, age 42 of Hermiston, Oregon, and formerly of Fennimore, WI died unexpectedly on Thursday Dec. 5, 2013 at his residence in Hermiston. Douglas was born on Feb. 24, 1971 in Lancaster, WI the son of Ronald and Mary (Furstenberg) Jeardeau.  He was married to Davia Hamm in April of 2004 while in California and had been presently awaiting his marriage to fiancé Ranee Nankani.

Following graduation from Fennimore High School in 1989, Douglas enlisted in the United States Air Force.  He spent the majority of his military career stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA working as an electrician and sheet metal fabricator.  Following his honorable discharge, he went to work as an electrician for the Union Pacific Railroad in Roseville, CA before transferring to the Hermiston, OR area in 2005.  Douglas was currently employed with the Union Pacific Railway at the time of his untimely death.  Douglas enjoyed watching movies, playing video games, sports, and a good fireworks display.  He was a wonderful uncle who loved spending time with his nieces and nephews where his youthful and fun personality would light up the room.  Douglas’s forever young spirit, hard working mentality, and awesome sense of humor will be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.

Douglas was survived by his Fiance Ranee Nankani of Hermiston, OR, mother Mary Jeardeau of Fennimore, brothers; Vince (Sharon) Jeardeau of Mt. Hope, Greg (Teresa) Jeardeau of Rochester, MN, Steven (Fiancé Sarah Head) Jeardeau of Fennimore, and Mike (Karen Runde) Jeardeau of Fennimore, special nieces and nephews; Emily (Cody) Friederick of Platteville, Kate (Adam) Goss of Prairie du Chien, Calvin and Laura Jeardeau of Mt. Hope, Joey and Jacob Jeardeau of Fennimore, and Leland and Grant Jeardeau of Rochester, MN.

Douglas was preceded in death by his father Ronald Jeardeau on Aug 2, 2009, paternal grandparents Arthur and Martha Jeardeau, and maternal grandparents Joseph and Wilma Furstenberg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday Dec. 12, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fennimore. Burial with military honors will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster.  Father Miguel Galvez will be officiating.  A visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. on Wed. evening Dec. 11, 2013 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with a Rosary service to be held at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday.
