Steven C. Cleven

ATT_1443278888572_FB_IMG_1443278355588Fennimore, WI-Steven C. Cleven, age 43, died unexpectedly on Friday morning Sept. 25, 2015 in Utica Township, Crawford County, WI. Steven was born on Sept. 24, 1972 in Viroqua, WI the son of Frank and Kathleen (Kochheiser) Cleven. He was united in marriage to Alica Vold on Feb. 12, 2010 in Prairie du Chien.

Following graduation from North Crawford High School in 1991, Steven earned a degree from Southwest Tech in Fennimore. He then drove truck for Richardson’s until 1999. Wanting to spend more time at home with family, Steven quit driving truck and enrolled in the State Correctional Officer Academy in Oshkosh. He had been employed at the prison in Boscobel for the past 16 years. Steven loved spending time with his family and friends, especially while gathered around a bonfire. He was his children’s biggest fan and supporter of Fennimore High School events. He also enjoyed his coffee, the Green Bay Packers, spending time on the computer and in the outdoors, and giving people a hard time. Steven’s love and commitment to family will forever be cherished.

Steven is survived by his wife Alicia Cleven of Fennimore, three children; Jacklyn Cleven of Dubuque, IA, Alex Cleven and Jordan Vold both at home, parents Frank and Kathy Cleven of Soldiers Grove, four siblings; Brian (Joann) Cleven of Ankeny, IA, Carolyn (Dave) Anderson of Menomonee, Brenda Cleven of Marshall and Emily (Jesse) Heims of Muscoda, mother-in-law Char Udelhofen of Fennimore, and sister-in-law Angie (Justin) Davis of Mt. Hope.

Steven was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday Sept. 30, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore with burial of remains to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Pastor Kathy Jacobson will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening Sept. 29, 2015 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday morning. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Steven C. Cleven.
