Fennimore – Ruth Pukall, age 66, died on Saturday morning Sept. 26, 2015 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore. Beng Neo Quek was born on June 5, 1949 in Singapore to Swee and Swee (Chua) Quek. She married Howard “Howie” Pukall on June 17, 1992 in Lancaster, WI.
After earing her CPA degree, Ruth did bookkeeping for her husband Howie while they owned and operated Suburban Motors III in Fennimore for 17 years. Ruth was also part owner in six different Chinese restaurants in Dodgeville, Wisconsin Dells, Platteville, Prairie du Chien, Dubuque, and Guttenberg. She had to retire due to her declining health. Ruth loved people, cooking, and boating on the Mississippi river.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband Howie of Fennimore, brother-in-law Jerry (LuAnn) Pukall and nephew Matt (Carissa) Pukall of Freedom, sister-in-law Cindy Smith and nephew Kyle Smith of Fort Meyers, FL, and cousin Julie (Mark) Ihm of Platteville.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday October 3, 2015 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. Rev. William Budzinski of the Fennimore United Methodist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday morning.
