Ruby Mae Watchorn

Ruby M. Watchorn, age 95, of Muscoda formerly of Highland passed away on Sunday June 23, 2019 at Dycora Transitional Health in Muscoda. She was born on May 23, 1924 in Clifton Township Grant County, WI, the daughter of Richard and Melva (Whitish) Peat. Ruby was united in marriage to Henry Watchorn on December 1, 1939 in Dubuque, IA.

Ruby and Henry worked many years farming for George Fillback. Ruby was a very hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She took great pride in an honest days work and taking care of her family. Later in life, Ruby worked with many individuals throughout the area helping with in home care. Ruby enjoyed listening to music, canning, dancing, and cooking. She looked forward to Sunday’s being spent with family and enjoying a meal together. Ruby liked the simple life and adored her family and was always there for each and every one of them. Ruby and her family greatly appreciated Dycora Transitional Health and St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care given to her.

Ruby is survived by her six children; Barb (Charles) Weist of Fennimore, Sharon Wepking of Paddock Lake, Marilyn Richter of Highland, Paul (Patricia) Watchorn of Jacksonville, FL, Linda (Clint) Weier of Dodgeville, Lori (Lloyd) Hach of Highland, 27 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren, four sisters; Loretta (Harold) Rule of Cerritos, CA, Wilma McCartney of Lancaster, Helen Lee of Dodgeville, Shirley (Doug) McCartney of Livingston, brother Ralph Peat of Patch Grove, sister-in-law Betty Peat of Madison along with several nieces nephews.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, son and daughter-in-law Frederick and Charlotte Watchorn, grandson Charles Weist Jr., son-in-law Max Wepking, three brothers; Gary, Richard Jr., and Raymond Peat, two brother-in-laws; Walt Lee and Gerald McCartney.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday June 28, 2019 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery rural Livingston. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Thursday June 27, 2019 at the funeral home and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday morning.
