Richard “Dick” Ketterer, age 80, of Fennimore, WI passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 7, 2023. He was born on December 9, 1942, in Fennimore, WI. He was united in marriage to Rita Klaas on September 12, 1964. With this uniting, they were blessed with their three daughters and one son.
Dick graduated from Fennimore High School in 1960. After high school he completed the Farming & Industry Short Course at University of Wisconsin-Madison and returned to Fennimore to take over the family farm. Dick was a successful farmer who modeled a strong work ethic. He was known for his love of Ford tractors. His quality jersey herd won him many awards and the American Breeders Service and Tri-State Breeders contracted his jersey bulls. Dick’s kids won numerous awards showing his prized jerseys. Dick and Rita operated Ideal Art Sources, a wildlife art and framing gallery for over 25 years. He was active in many social events in the neighborhood and was quick to help anyone in need. He had a love for the Packers and Badgers, which was no secret to those who knew him. Dick thought the world of his family and supported them in any endeavor they participated in. He loved spending time with family, especially taking grandkids and great grandkids on ranger and tractor rides. Dick was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. His dedication to his family and friends will be deeply missed.
Dick is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rita, of Fennimore, Rhonda (Brett) Hubbard of Fennimore, Renee (Jim) Nelson of Fennimore, Robin (Dave) Rosemeyer of Fennimore, and Ryan (Jodi) Ketterer of Marshfield; 13 grandchildren: Derek (Kelly) Hubbard, Krystal Hubbard, Kaden Hubbard, Jerica (Seth) Henkel, Conner (Kaley) Nelson, Brynlee Nelson, Braycee Nelson, Tyrell (Taylor) Rosemeyer, Taylor (Erica) Rosemeyer, Trey (Sam) Rosemeyer, James Ketterer, Joey Ketterer, Will Ketterer; 6 great-grandchildren: Blakely Hubbard, Barrett Hubbard, Camden Henkel, Hadley Henkel, Tyrion Rosemeyer, Jayla Rosemeyer; sister, Kathy (Tim) Tiffany of Waunakee; sister-in-law, Marilyn Ketterer of Fennimore; along with many special nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mildred (Riggs) Ketterer; brother, Jerry; and brother-in-law, Jim Smith.
In lieu of plants or flowers a memorial fund will be established in memory of Dick Ketterer.

Funeral Services
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the Fennimore United Methodist Church. Pastor “Bud” Budzinski will be officiating.

Burial to follow in the Ideal Cemetery (AKA German Cemetery) of Fennimore, Wisconsin.
