Ralph Jerrett

LIVINGSTON – Ralph Lyle Jerrett, age 85, of  Livingston, died Thursday morning, May 2, 2013, at Bloomfield Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in rural Dodgeville, WI. He was born June 30, 1927, the son of Clarence and Marjorie Jerrett. He was a 1945 graduate of Livingston High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 as an Admitting Officer in the Army Hospital at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.

On June 27, 1953, Ralph married Glee Gundlach. Two children were born to this union, Paula and Todd. He farmed the home farm in Clifton Township until 1989 when he and Glee moved to Livingston. Ralph was a real estate broker with Griswold Real Estate Century 21.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and also belonged to the Trailblazer Saddle Club of Lancaster.

His joys were his family, his friends, his horses, and wintering in Texas with his wife, son, grandsons, and fellow snowbirds. Horses were a life-long family passion that was passed to him by his grandfather and father. He in turn shared that passion with his son and grandsons.

Ralph is survived by his beloved wife Glee, and their two children, Paula and Todd; two grandsons, Tanner and Trace Jerrett of Stephenville, Texas; a sister-in-law Jane Gundlach; and  many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Laverne, his sister Betty Wells, a nephew Allen L. Jerrett, a grandnephew Allen L. Jerrett, Jr., his father- and mother-in-law Stanley (Doc) and Lila Gundlach, his brother-in-law Paul Gundlach, and a niece Diana Schwantes.

A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at the Livingston United Methodist Church in Livingston WI with Pastor John Oliver officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church on Saturday morning. Burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date in Rock Church Cemetery, rural Livingston.
