Marian E. (Volenec) Rossing died peacefully on August 12, 2025, at the Boscobel Care & Rehab Center, Boscobel, WI. Marian was born on June 15, 1932, in Montfort, WI, the daughter of Paul & Hazel (Anderson) Volenec. She attended Montfort Schools graduating in 1950. Marian was united in marriage to Garald V Rossing on June 1, 1951, at St. Peter Lutheran Church and they made their home in the Green River valley near Fennimore. For many years Marian managed the office at Rossing Construction. She also was a CNA at Good Samaritan Nursing Home and worked at Cabella’s in Prairie du Chien. She volunteered at the Fennimore Train Station. She was active at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed making quilts with the Sew and Sews Quilting group there. She loved square dancing, line dancing, crocheting, cross stitching, fishing, camping and tending to her flowers, birds, and her garden. She was an avid Euchre player and a member of two card clubs. Marian’s greatest pride & joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to attend dance recitals, ball games, camping & family reunions!
Marian is survived by her husband, Garald, of 74 years, her children: Randy (Roseann), Kim (Shirley), Ruth (Steve) Robertson, and Todd (Sarah) Rossing. She is further survived by her 11 grandchildren: Eric (Courtney) Mallon, Evan (Varvara) Rossing, Alison (Joe) Eigenberger, Jacquelyn (Preston) Riemenapp, Cassie (JE) Hoffmann, Curt (Kendall Gese) Rossing, Keith (Elaine) Kelley, Scott (Kassy) Kelley, Joel Rossing, Ethan (Katie) Rossing & Ashton (Justin Starkey) Rossing, and 12 great-grandchildren: Syndey & Larkyn Hoffmann, Buck & Bo Loretta Rossing, Jaden, Josie, Jordyn & Jaxon Mallon, Greyson & Gryffin Eigenberger & Dutton & Aurora Riemenapp. Marian is further survived by her sister, Shirley Baxter, numerous nieces & nephews, friends & relatives.
Marian was preceded in death by her daughter Sheri, infant grandson Peter, parents, siblings Irene (Virgil) Lund, Dean (Dorothy) Volenec, Merlin (Bud) (Mary Ann) (Merna) Volenec, Carol (Glenn) Fry, brother-in-law Gary Baxter, Loren (Eleanor) Rossing, Curt (Lenys) Rossing, Marcella (Raymond/Barney) Stenner and Viola (Frederick/Fritz) Stich, and other relatives.
Visitation
4-7:00 P.M. on Friday August 15, 2025, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Saturday morning.
