MONTFORT / FENNIMORE – Linda Lee Collins, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 11, 2025. She was born on March 4, 1944, the daughter of Virgil and Irene (Volenec) Lund. Linda was united in marriage to Bruce Collins on August 29, 1965, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore.
After graduating from Fennimore High School in 1962, Linda left the family farm to attend beauty school in Madison. Linda worked as a beautician at a variety of shops and eventually became an instructor for the cosmetology program at Southwest Technical College, where she also obtained her associate’s degree in business. For 35 years, Linda shared her knowledge, skills, and charm with many students, going above and beyond to support their success. Through teaching, she touched the lives of hundreds and formed lifelong friendships that extended well beyond the classroom.
Linda and Bruce shared a love for antiques and animals. They could be found traveling the area with their beloved dog between them, searching for sales and enjoying the countryside. Together they owned their own shop in Montfort, Badger Hollow Antiques. Linda also loved being in the sun fishing, a good book, and Elvis Presley.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bruce Collins; their three daughters: Shelly (Brian) Collins-Welsh, Lynette Collins, and Reagan Collins (Ben Bonson); three grandchildren: Kyle Collins (Sarah Alexander) Destinee (Phillip) Vesbach, and Trygve Herlitz-Collins; 6 great grandchildren: Launa, Sterling, Steelie, Tulsa, Creek, and Cahl. Also, Blayden and Ryan Bonson, Logen Alexander, brothers, Ron (Linda) Lund and Bob (Cindy) Lund and sister-in-law Naomi Glover. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jim and Ed Lund, parent-in-laws, Willard and Florence Collins and in-laws Abbot and Lyn Collins, Lavern Collins and Larry Glover.
