Kenneth E. Wells, age 91, of Livingston passed away on Saturday December 19, 2020 at his residence. He was born on June 23, 1929 in Montfort the son of H.O. and Florence (McReynolds) Wells. Kenny was united in marriage to Beverly Knutson.
Kenny graduated from Montfort High School and received his degree from the Platteville Mining School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Sargent with the 5th Regimental Combat Team from 1950 until 1953. Kenny returned home and worked various jobs in Fennimore, Reedsburg, and Platteville. His family and friends will fondly remember him as a loving father, humorist, a champion and proud patriot to all who knew him.
Kenny was a lifetime member for 68 years and known for his dedication to the Ritchie-Bowers-Kohout VFW Post #9298 in Montfort. Kenny’s outstanding support to his community include serving as President of Livingston, dedicated board member, building the Livingston Library, the Montfort VFW Park and supporting his local Scout troops. One of Kenny’s great joys was helping others and sharing laughs with everyone around him. A famous Kenny quote, “Who has more fun than People”.
Kenny will be deeply missed by his three children; Scott Wells of Livingston, Becky Wells of Los Osos, CA, and Terry Wells of Livingston along with his two grandchildren Isaac and Ruby.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly on March 14, 1979, two brothers; Harry Jr. and Norman “Buzz” Wells, and his four sisters; Vera (Wilbur) Knutson, Iola (Ira) Griswold, Helen (Henry) Schwartz, and Ruthie (Lloyd “Sonny”) Wagner.
A graveside service with Military Honors by the Montfort VFW will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday December 22, 2020 at the Rock Church Cemetery in Clifton Township rural Livingston. A “Celebration of Life” for Kenny Wells will be held at a later date at the Montfort Memorial Park. The Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort is assisting the family.
