BOSCOBEL – Judd Rowan Schmitz, age 10, left this world far too soon on Saturday May 17, 2025. His final day was spent just as he would have wanted; surrounded by family and embracing the world with the same adventurous spirit he carried every day.
Judd, Judd-man, Judd-the-stud, Juddy, Judd-bud, J-U-double D, Judd muffin - no matter what you called him, he was OUR Judd Rowan Schmitz, and he always will be. Judd had his own sense of timing, arriving nearly two weeks late into this world, and until the very end, he was the one we were always waiting on.
From the moment he was born on June 25, 2014, Judd filled our lives with pride and joy. Wise beyond his years, we often joked that he was an old soul. He had a deep love for classic music, some dirty rap songs, and the simple joys of life - Legos, riding his toys, swimming, hunting, candy, and Culver’s. He especially loved time with his family, most of all with his sister, Wriglee.
Even at just 10 years old, Judd left a remarkable mark on everyone who knew him. He was kind, hilarious, and generous—always ready with a big laugh or an even bigger heart. He was brave, strong, and passionate about sports, particularly football and wrestling. His dedication was unmatched; many nights were spent practicing and setting personal goals. His biggest dream was to play college football, and we planned to be at every single game.
Judd was truly living his best life. He especially loved the start of summer - lounging on the couch in his undies with his favorite blanket and pillow, watching S.W.A.T., snacking on kettle corn or sun chips, and sipping from a cold glass bottle of root beer.
He told the best stories, gave the warmest cuddles, and loved with his whole heart - FIERCELY. The world was brighter with Judd in it.
Though we miss him deeply, we will carry him with us, taking it one day at a time. The pain of his absence is immeasurable, but so is the love he left behind. We will never forget you, Judd. You will live within us forever. Until we meet again.
Judd is survived by his loving parents, Jon and LeeAnn and big sister, Wriglee Schmitz. He is further survived by his maternal and paternal grandparents: Dan and Susie Beinborn and Ron and Nancy Schmitz; great grandmother, Orpha Beinborn; aunts and uncles: Ryan and Chelsea Beinborn, Dalton and Morgan Beinborn, and Tabitha and Parker Jackering; and his cousins: Blane, Bennett, Borden, Brynn, Ella, Aleah, and Callie. Judd was preceded in death by his great grandparents: Bill “Scone” Beinborn, Robert and Leona Blair, Leroy and Ardith Laufenberg, and Robert and Leila Schmitz.
In lieu of plants and flowers, a Judd Rowan Schmitz Memorial Fund will be established.
