Mt. Hope, WI-Janice Mary Frye, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 9, 2026, at Orchard Manor in Lancaster. She was born on November 17, 1939, in Millville Township Grant County, WI, the daughter of James and Rose Turben.
Janice graduated from Patch Grove High School. Through her younger years, she loved raising her family. Janice later entered the work force, working at Loudspeaker Component for a few years until be employed at Rayovac in Fennimore for over 30 years until her retirement.
Janice loved the simple, private life, she created. Her family was dear to her and was she always there to lend a helping hand. Janice loved the outdoors, always remembering the “good old days” being raised on the farm. Janice was very joyous about her childhood and always put her family first, especially her parents and her brother.
Janice is survived by her three children: Joni (Mark) Taylor of Lakehills, TX, Gary (Tina) Frye of Fennimore, and Ron (Rebecca) Frye of Middleton, 10 grandchildren: Amanda Taylor, Sarah (Dustin) Petit, Matthew (Lexie) Taylor, Gary, Heather and Justin Frye, Nathan (Emilie) Bray, Danielle (Erik) Nelson, and Adam and Owen Frye, and 11 great grandchildren and one on the way, along with her dear brother James “Norbert” Turben of Lancaster.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
Donation may be given to the Grant County Hospice in Loving Memory of Janice Frye.
Funeral Services
In keeping with Janice’s wishes, there will be no public services in her honor.
Burial Services
A private family gathering will be held with burial in the St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Mt Hope Township Grant County, WI.
