Howard “David” Edge

FENNIMORE - Howard “David” Edge, age 69, passed away on Sunday morning September 7, 2025, at his residence in Fennimore. He was born on October 11, 1955, the son of Howard (Hap) and Janet (White) Edge. He was united in marriage to Mary Spraggon on December 26, 1976, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore.

Dave graduated from Fennimore High School in 1973. He attended and received his associates degree from the Southwest Technical College in automotive repair. Starting in high school, Dave continued working at Mac’s Standard Station in Fennimore until 1986 when he decided to start his own business. He became the owner and operator of Dave’s Auto & Truck Repair in Fennimore for many years until going to work for New Horizons in Fennimore until retiring from Braudt Automotive in 2018.

Dave found joy in life’s simple pleasures: having a cold beer, spending time with his family and friends, and tinkering with cars in his garage at home. He proudly served on the Fennimore Fire Department for eight years, giving back to his community. Two memorable trips taken was celebrating his 25^th Wedding Anniversary on a cruise and going overseas and visiting Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Holland. Above all, he cherished his role as a grandfather and held his grandchildren close to his heart.

Dave is survived by his wife Mary, three daughters; TC Streif (Chad Bender), Dee Northouse (Scott Leatherberry), Desi Edge (Matt Nation) all of Fennimore, six grandchildren; Cali Streif (Fiancé Allan Thompson), Ashten Streif, Connar Northouse (RaeLyn Lester), DaKota Northouse,  Ezra, and Zaia Nation, two sisters; Polly Edge of Madison, JoDee Heiting of Marshfield, four brothers; Phil (Donna) Edge of Belleville, Ben (Ellen) Edge of Caledonia, IL, John (Pam) Edge of Fennimore, Pat (Carol) Edge of Waterloo, WI, and brother-in-law-Terry Henkel of Marengo, IL.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Anna and Charles Spraggon, sister Barbara Henkel, sister-in-law Jacqueline Edge, and Uncle Jim White.
