Henrietta E. Grunow

Henrietta GrunowHenrietta E. Grunow, age 103 of Livingston passed away on Monday afternoon Feb. 11, 2013 at the Mineral Point Care Center in Mineral Point.  Henrietta was born on May 22, 1909 in Baraboo, WI the daughter of Henry and Lidia (Rumpft) VonWald.  She married Alvin W. Grunow on Sept. 25, 1928 in Lancaster, WI.

Henrietta and Alvin farmed in Mifflin Township from the time they were married until retiring and moving to Livingston in 1973.  She was a dedicated member of the Livingston United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Rebekah, Mifflin and Iowa County Homemakers, and the Red Hats.  She enjoyed traveling with family and friends to many destinations across the United States and beyond as well as attending Friday night fish fries with friends from the neighborhood.  Henrietta also enjoyed crocheting in her spare time, cooking, and making clothes for the kids.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was always willing to drop what she was doing and go when called upon.

Henrietta is survived by her three children; Darlene (Robert) Coyier of Mineral Point, Roger (Marlene) Grunow of Prairie du Chien, and Douglas (Carole) Grunow of Madison, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin on Jan. 13, 1998, son Gerald, and four brothers; Kenneth, Vernon, Richard, and Robert.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday Feb. 15, 2013 at the Livingston United Methodist Church in Livingston with burial to follow in the Mifflin Cemetery, Mifflin Township, Iowa Co., WI. Pastor John Oliver will be officiating.  A visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening Feb. 14, 2013 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with an Eastern Star service at 7:00 P.M.  Friends may also call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Friday morning.  In lieu of plants and flowers a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Henrietta E.
