Gerald V. "Jakeyboy" Williams

Gerald WilliamsLivingston, WI- Gerald V. “Jakeyboy” Williams died on Saturday Aug. 10, 2013 at the Manor Care in Platteville. Jakeyboy was born on March 24, 1936 in Illinois the son of Dawson & Marcella (Utzig) Williams. He was united in marriage to Patricia Rewey in 1960 until 1977 and then married Micheline Fall in 1980.

Jakeyboy enlisted in the Army National Guard from 1956 until 1960 and then was enlisted in the reserves from 1961-1962. Jakeyboy worked for Williams Tree Service for 30 years, which led to being subcontracted with WI Power & Light maintaining power lines for 20 of those years. He then went to work for the University of Wisconsin Platteville in their maintenance department for five years until retiring in 2002. Jakeyboy moved to France until the untimely death of Micheline and returned to Livingston in 2007.  Jakeyboy loved horses and the rodeos, spending countless hours on his lawn, going for rides, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. He was a man that believed in hard work and enjoyed the simple pleasure life had to offer.

Jakeyboy is survived by his two children; Angela (Gordy Howell) McIntyre, Kevin (Paula) Williams both of Livingston, eight grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 7 great grandchildren, four step great-grandchild, brother Charles (Pat) Williams, sister Lois Jakovich both of Seneca, SC, along with a special companion Patti Juedes of Rewey.

Jakeyboy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Micheline in 2007, son-in-law Robert McIntyre, an infant sister, sister Wanda Flesch, and a brother Pete Williams.

At the request of Jakeyboy, private memorial services will be held at a later date. The Soman-Larson Funeral Home of  Montfort assisted the family.
