Gary L. Scott

Gary Scott (Obit)Stitzer, WI-Gary L. Scott, age 62 died unexpectedly on Thursday morning April 18, 2013 at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on Oct. 31, 1950 in Lancaster the son of Leonard & Agnes (Mohlmann) Scott. Gary was united in marriage to Susan Kemper on June 6, 1970.  On Aug. 20, 1977 he married Ruth Reuter.

Gary graduated from Fennimore High School in 1968. He attended Southwest Technical College in Fennimore where he received his degree in Ag Mechanics. Gary went to work at E.G. Briel of Fennimore until 1989 and then was employed as the mechanic for the Grant Co. Hwy Dept. until retiring in 2011. Gary enjoyed the outdoors; going fishing, hunting rabbits and squirrels, morel hunting, gardening, and spending time with animals; especially his beagles. Gary was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and also enjoyed playing softball, and bowling. Along with being in the National Guard from 1972 until 1978, Gary was a former member of the Stitzer Volunteer Fire Dept. for several years.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife; Ruth of Stitzer, five children; John Scott of Waunakee, Jason (Mary Kilkenny) Scott of Windsor, Theodore “Ted” Scott of Madison, Brad (Fiancé Kim Bowman) Scott of Atlanta, GA, Tara Scott of Lancaster, three grandchildren; Kemper, Jake, and Emma Scott, mother, Agnes Scott of Fennimore, three sisters; Connie (Harold) Zeitler of Crosby, MN, Joyce (Ken) Ley of Livingston, Barbara (Thomas) Youngell of Green Bay, 12 nieces & nephews, 15 great nieces & nephews, sister-in-law, Carol (Rick) Parker of Prairie du chien, and brother-in-law, Larry (Sharon) Reuter of Bloomington.

Gary was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan in May of 1988, Father, Leonard in Aug. of 2000, mother-in-law, Wilma Reuter in Nov. of 1993 and his father-in-law, Ralph Reuter in Sept. of 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday afternoon April 21, 2013 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial of the cremated remains to be held at a later date. Pastor MaryAnn Floerke will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until time of service at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon.
