Livingston, WI-Ernest Leroy Danz, age 69, passed away on Friday August 8, 2025, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. He was born on November 10, 1955, in Peoria, Il the son of Roy and Ruth (Lambie) Danz.
Ernest graduated from Metamora High School in Illinois where his passion for farming started as a young boy. He was President of the Metamora FFA. In 1980, He and his family moved to the rural Livingston area where he continued farming until 2020. Ernest’s love for farming was second to none. This was passed down from his parents and he was proud to continue the farming tradition through the years. You could often see Ernest watching and admiring his cattle in the pasture. Ernest also enjoyed visiting with people and was often a prankster around the farm. He was a big sports fan and especially loved his Chicago Cubs.
Ernest is survived by his three siblings: David Danz of Platteville, James (Paula) Danz of Livingston, and Beverly (Richard) Yaun of New Glarus, along with his nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Jake.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Elfie Danz, and his grandparents Ernest and Minnie Danz, and James and Grace Lambie
Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral Home on Wednesday morning.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday August 13, 2025, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort, WI
