Earl J. Kroll

Earl KrollCobb, WI – Earl J. Kroll, age 90 died on Saturday afternoon Oct 19, 2013 at his residence in Cobb.  Earl was born on April 7, 1923 in Highland, WI the son of Ben and Theresa (Eiling) Kroll.  He married Virginia Rasque on May 3, 1949 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort, WI.

Following his marriage to Virginia, they rented a farm in Highland for three years. They relocated to Edmund where they continued to rent until purchasing their own farm. Earl farmed 420 acres where he milked cows and raised hogs for over 50 years until moving to Cobb in 1997. Earl enjoyed dancing and listening to big band music, hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. Earl took great pride in his family and his farm. He truly believed in working hard everyday.

Earl is survived by his five children; Cheryl Kroll of Madison, Randall Kroll and special friend Roxanne Moermond of Madison, Dixie Kroll of Dallas, TX, Kevin Kroll of Montfort, and Kurt Kroll of Dodgeville, and grandson Mitch Kroll. He also survived by his sister; Katherine Papiernick of Madison, brothers; Delbert (Ann) Kroll of Highland, and Lewis Kroll of Buffalo, NY, sister-in-law Betty Kroll of Fennimore, along with several nieces and nephews.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia on April 1, 2011, brother Cletus Kroll, sister & brother-in-law Lucille (Arnold) Volenec, two sister-in-laws; Marion Kroll and Dorothy (Bill) Kartman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday Oct. 24, 2013 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening Oct. 23, 2013 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort where a scripture service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.  In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Earl J. Kroll.
