Diane L. Lewis

BOSCOBEL - Diane Lou Lewis, age 86, passed away on Saturday morning, March 30, 2024, at Dove Healthcare in Fennimore. She was born on June 7, 1937, in Ithaca, WI, the daughter of Robert and Alice (Brown) Grassman.  Diane was united in marriage to William “Bill” Lewis on September 18, 1956, and after several years in the area, they moved to Waukesha. Diane worked for Waukesha County Department of Aging until her retirement. After retirement, Diane and Bill moved back to Boscobel.

Diane loved to create. She was an avid sewer and enjoyed making pins with buttons and yo-yos. She had a huge garden and was well known for her cooking creations, especially her homemade noodles, apple butter, and pickles.  Diane was an avid cat lover and was able to make friends everywhere she went. Diane is remembered as a “Granny” at Boscobel High School, where she forged many lasting relationships.

Diane is survived by her children: Debbie LaDue of West Allis, Patty (Steve) Gebhard of Woodman, and Harold Lewis of Boscobel; grandchildren: William “Billy” Lewis, Steven (Kayla) Lewis, Ethen Gebhard, and Megan Gebhard; great grandchildren, Taylin and Kaliyah; along with two brothers, Gary Grassman and Tom Grassman both of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, William “Bill” Lewis; parents; son, William “Billy” Lewis; granddaughter, Aimee LaDue; brother, Robert Grassman; and sisters, Marilyn Klang and Beverly Nevel.
