Dan Liddicoat

REWEY - On the morning of March 8, 2024, Dan Liddicoat, age 51, lost his life doing what he loved – driving the milk truck for the family business for 34 years. He was born on April 29, 1972, in Dodgeville, WI, the youngest son of Keith and Betty (Prochaska) Liddicoat. In elementary school, Dan was very involved in the Linden Little League Baseball Team. During high school, Dan was a member of FFA and Swing Choir and he played basketball and football all four years. He graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1990. He immediately went to work on the family farm and business, Liddicoat Trucking,

On May 28, 1994, I married Dan Liddicoat, who I met in 5th grade at Cobb Elementary. Many years later during our high school years we became wonderful friends and enjoyed the same close knit friend circle and eventually realized that we were meant to “grow old and gray together.” We’ve been blessed to raise two daughters, Emma and Olivia, who learned fast and early on that their dad was a kid at heart and would be their rock and foundation through the years. He was an amazing “girl” dad!

Dan loved watching the girls play sports in high school and then basketball at the college level. In 2016, he became the Iowa-Grant Girls Basketball Coach where he had the opportunity to coach the girls alongside their teammates. It was an experience that he missed when it ended, he just loved working with the team.

Dan always had a vision and he believed when there was an opportunity you should put your whole self into making that vision a reality. He was instrumental in the daily operations of Liddicoat Trucking. He was the voice of the business as he spoke daily with dispatchers and our drivers to get milk picked up and delivered in our tri-state area. When some people might be ready to slow down, my husband had no plans for that yet and was always looking to the future and how to make it successful.

We would have celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in May. With that said, I adored this man, and he was my best friend and there is no one more perfect for me. He was one of the good ones.

Dan’s family meant everything to him, and he will be greatly missed by his parents Keith and Betty, his brother Bill and Tina along with their children, Ashley (Ty Pawlowski), Taylor and Kaleb. His large extended family and friends will miss all his wise cracks, pranks, and his ability to make them laugh. His personality and sense of humor live on in the many lives he impacted.

Following the committal service at the cemetery, a meal will be shared at the Montfort Fire Station. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
