Berniece R. Bagley, age 92, of Platteville and formerly of Montfort, died on Sat. Dec. 20, 2014 at ManorCare in Platteville. Bernice was born on Feb. 4,1922 in Livingston, WI, the daughter of Emil and Rose (Whitish) Nechkash. She married Norman Bagley on Nov. 25, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI.
Berniece grew up on a farm and continued farming for much of her life. After selling the farm and moving to Montfort, Berniece went to work at Nelson Ice Cream until her retirement. She moved to ManorCare in Platteville in 2011. Berniece was an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing. She was very proud of her family and supported all the grandchildren with all their endeavors. Berniece took great pride in serving her Lord and was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Her strong will, putting others first, and dedication to her family will be dearly missed.
Bernice is survived by her three children; Kathline Poole of Normal, IL, Patricia (Tom) Harms of Minonk, IL, and Michael (Rhoda) Bagley of Mukwonago, four grandchildren; Elizabeth Poole, Sarah (Rob) Kucharski, Bruce (Jessica) Bagley, Brian, (Heather) Bagley, five great grandchildren; Michael Kucharski, Abigail, Cassidy, Brayden, and Kennedy Bagley, two step-grandchildren; Melissa (Michael) Jones, and Jennifer DeFries, and one step-great grandson, Justin Kucharski.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and husband Norman on Jan. 19, 2005, son-in-law Michael Poole, four siblings; Celia Barkley, Connie Yerke, Jack and Jim Nechkash.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday Dec. 23, 2014 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday morning.
