Arnold "Junior" E. Heberlein

Arnold HeberleinFennimore - Arnold “Junior” E. Heberlein, age 78 of Fennimore and formerly of Madison passed away on Thursday evening Feb. 28, 2013 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society. Arnold was born Dec. 23, 1934 in Lancaster, WI the son of Arnold and Ida (Gratz) Heberlein.

Arnold attended four years at the Becker Rural School in Liberty Township, Grant County, WI.  The next four years he attended Washington Orthopedic School in Madison, WI before returning to the farm to help his mother.  He received the leadership Award in 4-H in Grant County while he was a member of the Liberty Ridger 4-H Club.  In 1972, he moved to Madison where he was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, helped at a daycare, worked at Goodwill, and volunteered at the State Historical Library.  While in Madison, he also published four books.  He moved back to Fennimore in November 2006 where he resided at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society.

Arnold is survived by two nephews; Peter (Patsy) Heberlein, and Tom (Liz) Heberlein both of Fennimore, and a niece Cheryl (Tim) Busch of Marshfield, MO, great nieces and nephews; Jennifer (Nathan) Landon and their daughter McKinzie of Lancaster, Jason (Clare) Heberlein of Fennimore, Miles and his son Hayden, Joe, Hans, and Louis Heberlein of Fennimore, and Kyle, Wesley, and Cody Busch of Marshfield, MO.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Fred (Ella) Heberlein.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday March 4, 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Liberty Township, Grant Co., WI.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Monday morning.  In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Arnold E. Heberlein.
