Allen L. Eck

Allen EckStitzer – Allen L. Eck, age 82, of Stitzer died on Friday morning Sept. 20, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore.  Allen was born on July 7, 1931 in Lancaster, WI the son of Lesko and Bertha (White) Eck.

Allen was raised on the family farm outside of Stitzer. Following graduation from Fennimore High School, Allen worked for a short time for NASA in Florida before returning to Stitzer where he operated his milk hauling business, “Milk for Stitzer”.  He then was employed at John Deere in Dubuque, IA for 30 years until his retirement in 1987.  Allen was a member of the Fennimore Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the FFA, and the 2-Cylinder club in Boscobel. He enjoyed working on his collection of antique John Deere and Minneapolis-Moline tractors, along with his fire truck.   Allen also liked collecting model tractors, playing the guitar and clarinet, and drawing.  His strong attention to detail, friendly nature, and endless stories will forever be cherished.

Allen is survived by several cousins, and his special friends and neighbors; the Schuppener and Maier families.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday Sept 23, 2013 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Stitzer Lutheran Cemetery in Stitzer, WI. Bill Schuppener of the Fennimore Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. on Sunday evening Sept 22, 2013 at the Larson Family Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Monday morning.  Online condolences may be made at larsonfuneralhomes.com.
