Kermit Lester Wehrle, born February 13, 1934, to Lester and Mildred Wehrle in Fennimore, WI passed away October 30, 2021, at the age of 87. He is survived by his sister Doris Monroe, daughters Kathy Wehrle and Denise Wehrle, son Vernon Wehrle and grandson Brian Wehrle.
Growing up on the family dairy farm near Fennimore, Kermit attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison after High School and graduated in 1956 with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. In June of that year, he was wed to Donita Kasper and enlisted in the Air Force. From very early in his life, he had a great love of airplanes and a passion to fly them. That passion drove careers in the Air Force, passenger air lines and commercial air lines that allowed him to travel the world experiencing many countries and cultures.
Kermit was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donita and sister Rachel Millin.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday April 30, 2022, at the Fennimore United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Liberty Ridge Cemetery in Liberty Township Grant County, WI with Military Honors. Following the committal service at the cemetery, everyone is welcome for food and fellowship at the Fennimore United Methodist Church Hall.
