Arthur Delbert Freymiller

Arthur Delbert Freymiller, age 85, of Fennimore passed away on Thursday April 21, 2022, at his residence in Fennimore. Art was born on November 15, 1936, in the farmhouse on the family farm in the Town of Marion, Grant County, WI the son of Floyd and Lela (Brandes) Freymiller.

He graduated from 8th grade at the Miller School. In 1954, Art graduated from Boscobel High School the last class to graduate from the Old Rock School. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army from November of 1956, until September of 1958, in the Old 601st Corporal Missile Battalion in Zweibrucken, Germany as a surveyor.

On June 15, 1965, he married Lorraine Kitelinger. After his father’s death in 1973, they bought the family farm in January of 1974. From April of 1994, until April of 2007, he was road patrolman for the Town of Marion. In March of 2008, Art sold the farm to Johnathan and Cheryl Knowles.

On November 30, 2008, Lorraine passed away. On November 15, 2009, he married Sherry Reynolds at the home of Pastor Doug Ingram with a wedding dance at the Boscobel Bowl & Banquet. He served as Treasurer of Marion Township for 19 years taking the position his father held at the time of his death, along with serving on the Marion Church Council for many years. He also went on several mission trips with the Boscobel Methodist Church group.

Art was a Charter member of the Boscobel Antique Club, and he also joined the Southwest Two-Cycle Club. He enjoyed running his portable sawmill at antique shows for many years. Art had the thrill of sawing lumber at the 1999 Farm Progress Show in Lancaster, WI. In 2015, he still enjoyed running grader for Pulaski and Woodman Townships.

Art is survived by his sister Betty Dickins of Boscobel, second wife Sherry Freymiller of Fennimore, two stepdaughters: Rhonda Ackerman of Altoona and Reyne (Paul) Larsen of Sparta, six step grandchildren: Ryan, Reed and Rand Ackerman, and Natalie, Erik, and Holly Larsen, and six step great grandchildren along with dear friend Amy Maag and her family Ashley, Amber, Angie and Ariana.  

Art was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine (Kitelinger) Freymiller, parents Floyd and Lela (Brandes) Freymiller, brother-in-law Bob Dickins, step son-in-law Allen Ackerman along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday April 24, 2022, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Sunday. Food and fellowship will follow the committal service at the Cottonwood Sports Bar and Supper Club in Fennimore.
