Grant William “Sonny” Edge, age 80, of Fennimore, WI passed away on Thursday March 31, 2022, at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster with his wife and family by his side. He was born on December 20, 1941, in Platteville the son of Loretta.
Grant was a carpenter all his life. He worked at David Lumber in Potosi, Schrader Lumber in Fennimore, Jim’s Building Center in Fennimore and up to his retirement he worked at Lands’ End in Dodgeville.
On November 29, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Stoney. They had been together for 57 years. Together they had three children: Steve, Aaron, and Corey Edge. Grant loved to go camping and fishing with his family.
Grant is survived by his wife Mary Lou of Fennimore, three sons: Steve Edge (Roxane) of Hollandale, Aaron Edge (Lisa) of Everton, MO, and Corey Edge (Beth) of Fennimore, grandchildren: Margo Edge (Kyle) of Stoughton, Mitch Edge (Kelsie) of Hollandale, Tiffany Halverson (Cody) of Fenimore, Ty Davidson (Brittney) of Fennimore, Talyia Edge of Fennimore, Elivia Edge (Becca Griffith) of Fennimore and great grandchildren: Noah and Stetson Davidson of Fennimore, three sisters: Geraldine Kuhlas of Dodgeville, Caroline Kane of Platteville, and Irene (Gene) Clark of Mount Carroll, IL.
Grant was preceded in death by his mother Loretta, two sisters: Georgina Drew and Gertrude Lawrence, and brother Charles Edge.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday April 5, 2022, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. Burial will follow in the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore with food and time of fellowship at BD’s Eagles Nest in Fennimore. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Monday April 4, 2022, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday morning.
