Elaine Francis Armstrong

Elaine Francis Armstrong, age 81, of Lancaster formerly of Fennimore passed away on Friday December 25, 2020 at Orchard Manor in Lancaster. She was born on December 22, 1939 in Crivitz the daughter of Edward and Veronica (Gruszynski) Kendziera.

Elaine graduated from Crivitz High School in 1957. Shortly after, she was united in marriage and began her family. Elaine worked various jobs throughout her life along with being a small business owner. After moving to Fennimore, Elaine was employed by Fennimore and Lancaster Interiors as their bookkeeper for 14 years. She was dedicated to her Lord and was an active member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was sure to never miss her chapel hour. Elaine loved volunteering at the Fennimore Doll Museum of many years. She also enjoyed gardening, working in her flowerbeds, reading, knitting, listening to music, going shopping and traveling. Grandma “Dexter” adored her family and loved her role as grandma. She was very patient, playful, silly, and always understanding. Elaine’s devotion to her family, her resilient work ethic along with her love of being there for people will be cherished forever.   

Elaine is survived by her eight children; Susan (Brian) Horsman of Wildwood, FL, Patrick (Patricia) Armstrong of Superior, Judi (Kurt) Volkmann of Lancaster, Kathy (Darryl) Duttenhefner of Menoken, ND, Mike (April) Armstrong of Hayward, Steve (Kathy) Armstrong of Green Bay, Mary (Greg) Erickson of Farmington, MN, Linda (Craig) Merriman of Ely, MN, 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, sister Doris (Dick) Stoneburner of Issaquah, WA, two brothers; Edward Jr. (Dolores) Kendziera of Fayetteville, NC, and Ronald (Christine) Kendziera of Phillips.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, son Timothy Armstrong, and two granddaughters; Sara Duttenhefner and Amber Williams.

A public Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at the St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday morning. If planning on attending, the wearing of facemasks will be required. Committal service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday Dec. 30, 2020 at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Crivitz. The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore is assisting the family.
