Michelle M. Donar

Michelle Marie Donar, age 59, of Bloomington, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon December 24, 2020 at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on March 10, 1961 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of David and Marjorie (Buscher) Riniker. Michelle was married to Terry Jones and was later married to Michael Chunat. After the untimely death of Michael on February 4, 1995, Michelle was united in marriage to Dennis Donar on May 20, 2000.

Michelle attended Platteville High School and then attended the Southwest Technical College in Fennimore. In 1987, she graduated with a Licensed Practical Nursing degree and began her journey in health care. Michelle was employed at Orchard Manor for 15 years until working at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore for eight years. Homeward Bound later employed her until obtaining her Independent Duty License where she continued her love of nursing caring for a wonderful young boy for the past five years. She gave this profession her all, and always put her patient’s needs before her own. Michelle fell in love with Lake Superior, and enjoyed taking annual trips to many Big Top Chautauqua events held in Bayfield. She also enjoyed being outside, gardening, working with her flowers, and spending time with her pets. Michelle was proud of her family and her “heart of gold” didn’t allow her to say “no”. Her willingness to always be there for everyone and their needs will never be forgotten.  

Michelle is survived by her beloved husband Dennis of Bloomington, four children; Sarah Ragels of Mt. Hope, Robert (Janet) Jones of Burlington, Heidi (Joe) Jotham of Cataract, and Amy Jones of Galena, IL, 12 grandchildren; Ethan, Aaron, Nicole, Sean, McKenna, Sawyer, Reagan, Dylan, Malayna, Brayden, Lydia, and Jameson, three sisters; Jayne (Melvin) Boebel of Deerfield, Susan (Ernest) Marquez of Albuquerque, NM, Sandi (Shane) Johnson of Prescott, AZ, and her brother Daniel Riniker of Bloomington along with many special nieces and nephews.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Davey Riniker.

Due to the continued pandemic, there will be no formal memorial services held at this time in memory of Michelle. There will be a “Celebration of Life” gathering in her honor to be announced at a later date.
