Evelyn A. Peterson, 86, of Lancaster, Wisconsin, passed away on January 10, 2019 at the Lancaster Care Center, in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Evelyn was born July 12, 1932 in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, the daughter of Alfred and Mae (Guist) Hiller. She graduated from Soldiers Grove High School.Evelyn was united in marriage to Vernon D. Peterson on May 31, 1950 in Gays Mills, Wisconsin. Together they farmed above Soldiers Grove until 1957 when they moved to Lancaster. Evelyn worked for Drs. Whitford/Schnepper, Drs. Kuenster/Jackson/Harms veterinary clinics, Wisconsin Dairies and the Lancaster Care Center.
Evelyn loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed spending time tending to her flowers. She and Vernon especially enjoyed dancing with friends at Huckleberry's in Prairie du Chien every Friday night where special friend Andy Skemp always had reserved seats for them.
Evelyn and Vernon will forever be hitting the 7 7 7 on the slots followed by a spin on the dance floor.
She is survived by her children David (Mary) Peterson of Lancaster, Diane (Tony Arnieri) Peterson of Naples, Florida, and Paul (Rita Whitish) Peterson of Lancaster; daughter-in-law Luann Bendorf of Lancaster; grandchildren Leann (Archie Reynolds) Handel of Cassville, Lynn Wolf of Lancaster, Dave (Renee) Peterson of Horicon, Brad (Tricia) Peterson of Mayville, Koal Peterson of Lancaster; Great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Jordan, Jenna, Quintin, Blake and Miles; Sisters Mary Dull and Martha Hirshfield of Janesville, Marlene Emery of Onalaska and Brother Richard Hiller of Janesville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 infant siblings, brother Roger Hiller and sisters Alfreda Johnston and Judy Eichelt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday Jan. 14, 2019 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Burial will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery in Soldiers Grove at Tuesday morning 9:00 A.M. Jan. 15, 2019. Visitation will be held from 3-6:00 P.M. on Sunday afternoon Jan. 13, 2019 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Monday morning.
