Richard A. "Dick" Bryhan

Richard A. “Dick” Bryhan, age 90, of Lancaster passed away on Saturday Sept. 1, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Oct. 15, 1927 in Lancaster the son of Arthur and Genalda (Kaeding) Bryhan. He was united in marriage to Irene Eastman on Nov. 15, 1947 in Lancaster.

Richard and Irene farmed in the Montfort and Lancaster areas until being employed at John Deere of Dubuque, IA. Due to a brief layoff, Dick went to work at Fennimore Roller Mills for the next 29 years. He was later employed at Koschkee Transfer of Fennimore for three years until going to work for Land’s End in Dodgeville until his retirement. Richard and Irene loved to travel together, spending their winters in Texas. When he was younger, he loved going snowmobiling and being part of the local snowmobile club. They also enjoyed going out to eat every Saturday night, ice fishing, playing cards, especially the game “Joker”. Richard was close to his Lord, adored his family, and has many fond memories with the moments shared with his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of over 70 years, Irene of Lancaster, three children; Jim (Geri) Bryhan of Lancaster, Rosemary (John) Collins of Fennimore, Ron (Gloria) Bryhan of Shirley, NY, eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Rose Bryhan of Lancaster, brother-in-law Jim Shaw of Lancaster, along with several special nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Bryhan, grandson Jason Collins, sister Janana Shaw, and his brother Keith Bryhan.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday Sept. 8, 2018 at the Fennimore United Methodist Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday Sept. 7, 2018 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church on Saturday morning. In lieu of plants and flowers a memorial fund is being established on loving memory of Richard A. Bryhan.
