Donald “Dyno” Colburn, age 65, died on Wednesday morning, Dec. 13, 2017, at his residence in Highland. He was born on Jan. 17, 1952.
From a distance, I am Dyno.
Up close, I am Papa.
From a far, they called me Don.
Those who knew me, know me.
Those who didn’t, don’t.
I lived a life most would envy;
Great kids and a good woman by my side.
Traveled the country and served our nation.
Became a grandpa and never looked back.
Most of you know me as a Beowulf,
The one who didn’t ride fences or ask your permission.
I am Dyno,
I am Dad,
I am Papa,
And I am proud,
To have lived a life I called my own.
From a distance, I am watching.
Up close, I am there.
From a far, I am smiling.
Dyno is survived by his beloved wife Sue of Highland, daughter Tori (Scott) Hood of Tomah, son Tyler Colburn of Highland, grandson Xander “Scooterman” Hood and loving sidekick Sophia.
A celebration to honor and remember Dyno’s life will be held at a later date. The Soman-Larson Funeral Home of Montfort is assisting the family.
