Fennimore WI-Ralph A. “Bud” Davies, age 88, died on Monday Sept. 12, 2016 at Orchard Manor in rural Lancaster. He was born on Nov. 1, 1927 in Platteville the son of George & Rowena (Bitney) Davies.
Ralph went to work throughout the Platteville and Lancaster area until being drafted in the U.S. Army in 1952. After being honorable discharged, Ralph was united in marriage to Mary Hach on May 29, 1956 in Highland. Ralph went to work for John Deere dealership until purchasing a farm in rural Platteville. After selling his farm, Ralph worked for Fennimore FS for over 20 years until his retirement. He adored his family and was a dedicated employee. Ralph had the ability to fix or build anything and his wonderful sense of humor attributed to this great man.
Ralph is survived by his four children; Vicky (Kevin) Graf of Lancaster, Bonnie Davies of Lancaster, Ralph Jr. (Sheila) Davies of Cobb, Pete (Chris) Davies of Sherrill, IA, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, brother Daniel Davies of Barneveld, and a sister Beverly (Bernard “Buzz”) Hartnett of Lancaster
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary on Sept 5, 2011, grandson Kevin Christopher Graf, infant brother, sister Betty Trollop, sister-in-law Sandra Davies, niece Sandy Jewett.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday Sept. 16, 2016 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Stitzer United Methodist Church Cemetery, rural Stitzer with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home on Friday morning.
