Fennimore, WI-Lorraine R. Becker, age 88, died on Saturday afternoon Aug. 27, 2016 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore. Lorraine was born on June 19, 1928 at home in Preston, IA the daughter of Edward and Elma (Kiel) Eggers.
Lorraine graduated from Maquoketa, IA in 1946 and then was united in marriage to Ira Propst and then Paul Becker. Lorraine lived in Wyoming, Delmar and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mount Hope and Fennimore, Wisconsin. Lorraine has been a farmer’s wife, worked for Clinton Engines, Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Home Health Care and a seamstress in Fennimore. Lorraine loved spending time with her Dog Sam, liked horses and enjoyed quilting and reading. She also loved traveling to such places as Alaska, Ireland, England, and Switzerland. Lorrain’s determined and tough personality along with her quick “one liners” will be truly missed.
Lorraine is survived by her six children; Peggy (Joseph) Schott of Vinton, IA Bonnie Berens of Fennimore, Brenda (David) Ghaffari of Lewisville, TX, Diane Laughlin of Fort Worth, TX, David Propst of Clarkston, MI, Bill Becker and Barb Keller of Boscobel, 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and her brother Dale (Mary) Eggers of Maquoketa, IA and several nieces nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, and infant twin brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday Aug. 31, 2016 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial of cremated remains at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
