Karen (Leffler) Rosemeyer

FENNIMORE - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Karen (Leffler) Rosemeyer. Karen passed away at her home on November 26, 2025.

Karen was born at home in Fennimore on April 27, 1943, to her parents Maurice and Anne (Waterman) Leffler.  She graduated from Fennimore High School with the class of 1961. After graduation she married the love of her life Jim Rosemeyer, Sr. on December 9, 1961. The young couple spent the first few years of their marriage living in Madison and then decided to move back home to raise a family. With this unity they were blessed with two sons, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren with more on the way. Karen worked in Fennimore at the Kramer and Nelson Law Office, followed by Keith Rands Reality and then ended her career at Southwest Technical College for twenty years.

Karen was a kind, caring soul who loved spending time with her family and friends, especially playing in many different card clubs, going to movies, reading, and taking bus trips to plays. Because of her love for reading, she became a member of the library board. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially taking grandchildren to movies and attending their school activities and sporting events. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, wife and sister.  Her dedication to her family and friends will be deeply missed.

Karen leaves behind many who knew and loved her, including her son David (Robin Ketterer) of Fennimore, Jim (Tracey Boylen) of Oregon; six grandchildren: Tyrell (Taylor) Rosemeyer, Taylor (Erica) Rosemeyer, Allie (Max) Nicholson, Trey (Sam) Rosemeyer, Riley (Kipp) Youngquist,  Maggie Rosemeyer; five great grandchildren: Charlotte Nicholson, Tyrion Rosemeyer, Theo Nicholson, Jayla Rosemeyer, and Mya Rosemeyer; siblings: Linda Stephenson and partner Gary Chamberlain, Connie (Jim) Gaddie, Dave "Adolph" Leffler, Tom (Debbie) Leffler; sister-in-laws, Connie Rosemeyer, Sally Rosemeyer, Maxine (Scott) Patchin, Roxanne Rosemeyer; brother-in-laws Larry Strang and Don Peckham; along with many special nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, James Rosemeyer Sr.; her parents, Maurice and Anne (Waterman) Leffler; her in-laws: Max and Mary (Slack) Rosemeyer; her brother, Maurice Leffler; Jr.; her sisters, Sara Strang and Kristi Peckham; her brother-in-laws, Doug Rosemeyer, Tom Rosemeyer, Tony Rosemeyer.

Karen was a kindhearted and good natured, extremely loving and giving person. We are all richer for having Karen in our lives. She will be greatly missed.
