LANCASTER – Kenneth L. Sager, age 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Lancaster Health Services. He was born on January 12, 1928 in Lancaster, the son of John and Doretha (Leise) Sager.
Ken graduated from Lancaster High School in 1945 and shortly after joined the United States Army. He served with the 88th Division Signal Corp, stationed in Italy, from September 1946 to November 1947. Ken was united in marriage to Ruth Wellman on November 24, 1962, at the First United Methodist Church in Madison. They enjoyed 44 wonderful years before her passing in 2006.
After returning home from military service, Ken began his career with Dairyland Power Co-op, where he worked as a line foreman. He retired in February 1990 after more than 40 years of dedicated service.
Ken was an active member in the Lancaster community. As a member of Lancaster United Methodist Church, he served on various committees over the years and was known for his dependable presence within the congregation. He was also a proud member of the Lancaster VFW post and belonged to the Odd Fellows Lodge. In their earlier years, Ken and Ruth enjoyed traveling and camping together, creating many cherished memories.
Ken is survived by his sisters in-law, Mary Morgan and Gladys Wellman; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Steve Zabel. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ruth; brother Virgil Sager; sister Edith Gillitzer; infant brother Herbert; and brothers in-law Richard Morgan, Robert Wellman and John Gillitzer.
Everyone is invited for food and fellowship directly following the Memorial Service.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given in Loving Memory of Kennth Sager to the Lancaster United Methodist Church.
